Elements and Performance Criteria
- Prepare to develop programming solution.
- OHS processes and procedures for a given work area are identified, obtained and understood.
- Established OHS risk control measures and procedures are followed in preparation for the work.
- The extent of engineering problem is determined from performance specifications and situation reports and in consultation with relevant persons.
- Activities are planned to meet scheduled timelines in consultation with others involved in the work
- Appropriate development kit and software tools are selected based on specified requirements and performance standard.
- Strategies are implemented to ensure programming is carried out efficiently.
- Develop programming solutions.
- OHS risk control measures and procedures for carrying out the work are followed.
- Knowledge of programming functions and features are applied to providing a programming solution.
- Code in existing programs is analysed and modifications or corrections made to rectify program performance.
- Key features of the programming language are applied to develop and test solutions. (Note)
- Approaches to issues/problems are analysed to provide most effective solutions.
- Quality of work is monitored against personal performance agreement and/or established organisational or professional standards.
- Test and document the programming solutions.
- Testing procedures are developed to analyse code developed in relevant programming language.
- Problems and bugs in program are rectified to ensure compliance with program performance requirements.
- Intermediate and final work reports are written in accordance with professional standards and presented to appropriate person(s).
- Note: 1. Key features include that features classes, inheritance, polymorphism, arrays and packages.
